I'll be there

Whenever you need me, I'll be there.

In case you haven't noticed, unlike other of my fellow bloggers, I didn't write a tribute to Michael Jackson. Until now.
The reason I didn't want to write about him right after his death is because I didn't know him well. I wasn't qualified to judge him or to look up to him because I didn't know him.
After a week of watching television and listening to my mum's rambles, I am finally going to show my honour and pay my respects to him.

Michael started singing at the age of 6, along with his brothers in a group called The Jackson 5.
He was the youngest among the group, and also the one with the most energy. If you see their music videos from the past, he is usually seen bouncing around, making you want to tap your feet along with him. His father, Joe Jackson, often gave him pressure, asking his brothers to be more "like Michael" and do better "like Michael". In his autobiography, Moonwalk, Michael stated that he was physically and mentally abused by his father. However, he says that without his father, he would never be where he was.

Michael was an inspiration to us, and will always be. He taught us that if we want change, we have to start with ourselves first. He taught us to love one another, no matter if you're black or white. Yes, he was accused of child sexual abuse, but why would he do such a thing? Back in the Jackson 5 days, his brother used to bring girls back to their hotel room and little Michael can't even bare to watch. He was afraid, he was disgusted. To me, he loved children more than ever, and wouldn't do a thing to harm them.

No matter what the press says, no matter what anyone says, Michael will always be a pure soul in my heart. The "Prince of Pop" they called him, will always be a legend. For generations and generations to come, there will be no other like him. No other Michael Jackson. Under that studded jacket and shiny white glove, its a true inspiration.

Rest In Peace

Michael Joseph Jackson
